Royal Youth Orchestra

The Royal Youth Orchestra of the Transylvania State Philharmonic, under the High Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Radu, mentored by maestro Gregory Vajda and assistant conductor Krisztián Malicski, represents a breeding ground for talent and an innovative musical hub. With a forward-looking vision and a passion for diversity, the orchestra stands out through its distinctive approach, bringing freshness and energy both to traditional concert halls and to unconventional spaces such as squares, parks, historical sites, as well as clubs, cafés, and industrial spaces.

With an eclectic repertoire and a cross-genre approach, the Royal Youth Orchestra of the Transylvania State Philharmonic aims to create a fascinating sonic experience, both through its own concerts, allowing young musicians to become familiar with the standard orchestral repertoire, and through side-by-side concerts alongside the Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra, collaborations within the season’s concerts, or original events through which young musicians become ambassadors for classical music among their peers.

The Royal Youth Orchestra of the Transylvania State Philharmonic also serves as a bridge toward a new, young audience, helping shape the audience of tomorrow, through educational projects and interactive events carried out within the community, and through a constant effort to make music an accessible experience for everyone.
